The list of celebrities participating in The NHL Alumni/Celebrity Game and Benefits Concert is growing everyday.
The pre-game warm up stretch begins at 6:00 with Hockey Author Andrew Podnieks, Mike Ulmer from the Toronto Sun, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment's Paul Dennis, and Christine Simpson from Rogers Sportsnet and author Kevin Shea as moderator for a panel discussion (dare we say argument) about the Future of Hockey … that begins and ends with an all-star hockey game featuring some of the best seven-year old hockey players in the country. The panel will be followed by a magical moment in history where you'll be treated to the magnificent voice of Michael Burgess singing in harmony with a World-Class Figure Skating Show.
Now, get your adrenaline going as many of your Favourite Musicians, including: Blue Rodeo; Ronnie Hawkins; Tal Bachman; Sam Roberts; God Made Me Funky and David Roberts turn up the heat. They will be joined by an all-star lineup of NHL Alumni including: Rick Vaive; Bill Derlago; Chris Kontos; Dale Hawerchuck; Gary Leeman; Lou Franceschetti; Mike Pelyk; Peter Inachuck; Steve Shutt; and Wilf Paiement plus Canadian Olympic Gold Medalists Marnie McBean; Jennifer Botterill and Sami Small.
Media Personalities including Maggie Cassella; Jordan Kerbal; Jason Barr; Mike Wilner; Andrew Coyne; George Stroumboulopoulos and Darren Millard are joining the celebrity hockey game in addition to Mike O'Shea, Michael Palmer and Jeff Johnson
of the Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts. Heck, we even have a few Politicians and Canadian Idol Judge Zack Werner. To help hold the peace we have Referees Extraordinaire Ray Scampinello and Bill McCreary. Spice it up with SCTV Comedians Colin Mochrie; Deb McGrath and Jayne Eastwood plus Enza the Supermodel and you have the charity function of the century.
Net revenue from ticket sales will be donated to Gilda's Club and Serve Canada.
