Borland Canada FREE Web services white papers from Borland Canada.
Canada lags U.S. but is embracing Web services Analysts say Canada is six months to two years behind the U.S. in the race to embrace Web services, but its a market that is yet to prove itself and Canadians are getting more involved, especially in the developer community. ![]() Building the Web services world The hardware, software and services fuelling Web services will generate more than $34 billion (US) by 2007, and the low barriers to entry will mean the SMBs will have a much easier time competing with the Global 2000. Ramping up for Web services Its been hyped for a while, but technological and market changes mean that the long-awaited Web services revolution is now less than a year away, and interest and plans for implementation among companies is taking off. J2EE and Web services Web services are expected to ramp up quickly in the next few years and J2EE will play a significant role in the development of competitive (but compatible?) platforms from the likes of IBM, Microsoft and Sun. Unlike the more expensive technologies like EDI and EAI, Web services has the potential to allow businesses of any size to form e-commerce relationships with partners of any size anywhere in the world.
