Welcome to the first posting on the Council's new blog.
Posted by Robert Cohen at
Why a new blog? Google lost the Council's blog when they purchased Blogger. To make matters worse, the only way we could contact Google was via email & and no one would respond to us.
How does this relate to the Council? The IT industry is full of these types of problems: buyouts and mergers with insufficient resources made available for the merger of the staff, products and ensuring customer satisfaction; outsourcing customer service to countries where English is not the first language; integration of partner programs; lack of support for channel logistics; etc.
What's my point? Inadequate communication, coupled with an overall misunderstanding of what makers, sellers and users of IT products and services require, is creating huge problems within our industry.
What's The Council Doing? The Council couldn't do anything to get our original blog back or the content it contained. However, through better communications, the Council is helping to identify and analyze the key problems within the industry, and develop solutions that work for the makers, sellers and users.
